The Royal Ballet welcomes new choreographic talent from around
This April, The Royal Ballet has invited leading dance companies to participate in International Draft Works, presenting choreography in development alongside fully-fledged works. Taking place in the Linbury Theatre, The Royal Ballet’s international stage for dance, the programme will feature works by emerging choreographers from ABT Studio Company, Birmingham Royal Ballet, Dutch National Ballet, Hamburg Ballet, National Ballet of Canada, Northern Ballet, Norwegian National Ballet, the Royal Ballet of Flanders and The Royal Ballet.
This is a unique and exciting opportunity to discover not only emerging choreographic talent and trends but also dancers from international companies rarely seen on UK Stages.
Emma Southworth, Creative Producer for The Royal Ballet, comments: ‘We have been overwhelmed by the response of companies to participate in this inaugural event. The Linbury Theatre now affords us the wonderful opportunity to devise and host important choreographic development programmes such as this; International Draft Works is an initiative we hope will become a regular event in the Linbury programming calendar. We very much look forward to welcoming our international colleagues in the dance community to the Royal Opera House.’
